2013 REUNION PROMISES TO BE BIGGEST AND BEST!
Saturday, August 17, 2013 the third Saturday of August
This year the reunion will allow Walsenburg to show off in a wonderful fashion, so come early and stay late!
Our All Walsenburg Class Reunion will begin at 4 p.m. at the Community Center. The cost is $30 for registration, dinner and dancing. (Note if you register on line it's $32.40). Music this year is by Pueblo DJ Little Rose and she promises a lot of fun.
Food will be a roast beef dinner buffet style from the wonderful Community Center caterer extraordinaire Yvette Vialpando!
There are several individual reunions on Friday night. They are listed on this website under the INDIVIDUAL REUNIONS button on the left.
The morning of the 17th the Walsenburg Downtown Revitalization Project is organizing a fundraising event.....there will be a 5 K Walk/Run at the beautiful sports complex beyond the high school on Walsenburg's northside. You can walk or run. The registration table is open beginning at 6:30 a.m. and from 7:00-9:30 you can start your walk or run. Do a fast paced run or walk leisurely with friends and when finished head downtown to La Plaza on 6th Street for breakfast. The cost for this event and breakfast AND a t-shirt with the reunion logo is $25. If you just want breakfast it's $25 since it's a fundraiser for our hometown! The First Ladies of Walsenburg (Sharon Vezzanni and Karen Wilson) are heading up this wonderful effort. Please RSVP to Sharon at sharonvezzani@aol.com to let her know you'll be attending and then you can pay at the door.
Later that morning and continuing into the afternoon nostalgia will be enhanced as there will be a CAR SHOW in the downtown area. Plans are still being finalized at this time, but it will allow everyone to wander the downtown area viewing these magnificent cars and visiting with their owners. The show is being coordinated by Rich Ringen with the New Expressions Car Club in Walsenburg. Not all details are finalized but we will keep you posted on this website. (719)225-0623 if you are interested. Rich and Anita are handling registrations for this.
All the while we hope everyone will shop at the local merchants and take in the beautiful transformations happening in Walsenburg as their revitalization committee works hard to enhance the 'Burg!
The Classes of 1963 from WHS and St. Mary as well as the SM Class of 1968 will each hold reunions mixers that weekend on Friday night. Click on "Individual Reunions" to get details.
